Is Muhammad more influential than Jesus?

In the below list of the history’s most influential people Muhammad comes in at number 1 whereas Jesus only makes number 3. Can this be justified? There are 2.1 billion Christians (about a third of the human race) compared to about 1.3 billion Muslims (about a quarter of the human race). So surely Jesus wins? Well, not necessarily. Jesus was the principle prophet of Christianity and Muhammad the principle prophet of Islam. But the primary text of Christianity (the Gospels) were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, whereas the primary text of Islam (the Koran) was written by Muhammad. The primary missionary and proselytiser of Christianity was St. Paul, whereas the primary proselytiser of Islam was Muhammad. Muhammad is also a unique example of a political and military leader who was also a religious leader – he conquered much of the Middle East, and created his own Empire. On the other hand, Jesus let Julius Caesar and Augustus do the dirty work – they created the Roman Empire, and then Christianity took it over, when Constantine converted. So Mohammed is Jesus, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Julius Caesar, Augustus and Constantine all rolled into one. This is why he is the most influential human in history. The philosopher Nietzsche defined the Overman or Superman as “the Roman Caesar with the soul of Christ”. I submit that the prophet Mohammed was Nietzsche’s Overman – the prophet Mohammed was the Roman Caesar with the soul of Christ.

(PS: the above picture is of Muhammad Ali, rather than the prophet Muhammad)

  2. Agree...I also put Muhammad or "prophet" Muhammad above Jesus.Muhammad is THE MOST influential person ever. Moreover, even when you look at the religions now,Islam has 1.7 Billion followers and Christianity has 2.2 Billion followers and keep in mind that Islam emerged AFTER 600 years of Christianity..Islam,actually,had to "dominate or replace" already established Christianity in order to grow..and surprisingly,it did it with exceptional success.

  3. Koran was not written by muhammad, he was collected by his followers as the Apostles did with the teachings of Jesus, is also not true that Muhamamd founded an empire, he founded a caliphate only in Saudi Arabia, his followers met the rest, took almost 500 years to it. Now if you mean that Muhammad is more infuente because he founded an empire, it is more important politically, I say false, Jesus was as important as him, if not more, all pagan Europe was dominated by the Church, and the Roman Empire and Byzantine as two Christian powers are easily rivals with Omíads empires and abassyd, all pagan kingdoms of Europe were united by the Cross of Christ, we will also speak other truths, hence most scientists, inventors, reformers in the last 500 years? Europe, which were the reformers of Islam? which inventions? The Church hid the knowledge for nearly 500 years, if that had not happened we would now be more evolved scientifically, West owes nothing to Islam ultimately the fatal blow against Islam is the conquest of the Americas where even today Islam is almost invisible, even in East Asian Christianity seems to be most triumphant, for those who accuse Jesus of not form the Church as Muhammad, false, without Jesus there would be no church, apostles, he did not need to act, he just existed.
Let's talk about the fact that now, it has been said that Islam is the fastest growing religion, this is false, Islam grows too, but this is due to the birth rate is declining and immigration, they are not strong in conversion few women convert to Islam, there is on the average about 2.3 billion Christians against Muslims 1.6 billion, or 3.7 million of churches and 2.5 million of Mosques. If we are talking about the greatest figure Jesus wins by far, he is the most famous man in history, the divine and unique, everyone knows how Jesus died, was born, the story splits before and after him, and Muhammad? he is like Moses or Paul, founded the religion, but is not as central to worship, Jesus has more temples than Allah. So I still would give Jesus the title of most influential man in history.
